Do you like Vanilla, and drive a car, then buy a cow

Apparently science can now produce vanilla flavouring from cow dung. Not only that but they can also make petrol from cow dung. If America were to convert all all its cow dung to petrol then they would be able to polute the planet with 7,000,000 litres of farm produced petrol. Or they could instead produce tonnes of vanilla flavouring instead.
Somehow I can't see Bush going all out to corner the vanilla crowd.

But when is a game not a game?

For a game to be a game all players in it must be aware

  1. That it is a game
  2. That it has rules
  3. What those rules are

It is also desirable that the players of the game aren't harmed by the game. Unfortunately Benjamin Stove fails test 1 as not all players in it know that it is a game therefore they are unaware that it has rules and therefore what those rules are.

Are players harmed? Hopefully not, though of course those "players" who aren't in the know during the game may get a nasty surprise.

Decisions, decisions

We tossed, we turned, we made coffee and then we walked back and saw that the coin was heads. So we started the balls rolling.

We decided to add the address of the studio to the Benjamin Stove site under the guise of it being Benjamin's address with reference to the Whois lookup site. But we are not dropping them in it just yet.

We may play them at their own game until March 25th. As to how we know that date lets just say a little character told us.

More on GMD Studios

Well it seems that GMD Studios has nice offices in Florida. There is plenty of parking outside though I hate to think what the noise level is like with that motorway right outside their frontdoor.
Anyway an interesting point to note is that come the 25th of March they plan to end the Benjamin Stove scam. The question is do we wiggle our bums through before then and blow the gag.

Debunkette is a fraud

Well when I say fraud I mean it doesn't debunk anything set up by GMD Studios 7057 University Blvd Winter Park, FL 32792 US for the simple reason that it is run by GMD Studios 7057 University Blvd Winter Park, FL 32792 US.
Now sorry but how can a site be honest about debunking myths if it pulls back just because they get their paycheck from the same boss.
For those that haven't followed the whole Benjamin Stove scam it happens that on the 22nd of December last year GMD Studios set up both the Benjamin Stove site and the Symbolinthecrop site and possibly even the Debunkette site. (oddly enough the only records for the Debunkette site go back to the 22nd December 2005). Strangely there are blog entries for earlier but having had in the past to backfill this site with entries we both know how easy it is to do.

Bejamin Stove Mystery a fake

It seems that Benjamin Stove is not for real. How can I be certain in saying this? Well the logic is this.
  1. The Who is Benjamin Stove site was set up on the 22nd December 2005
  2. The Symbol in the Crop Site was set up on the 22nd of December 2005
  3. Who is Benjamin Stove is registered in the name of GMD Studios 7057 University Blvd Winter Park, FL 32792 US.
  4. The Symbol in the Crop is registered in the name of GMD Studios 7057 University Blvd Winter Park, FL 32792 US.
  5. So 1+3=2+4

My math may be bad but the result is still fake.

Is this guy doing drugs?

Because the — all which is on the table begins to address the big cost drivers. For example, how benefits are calculated, for example, is on the table. Whether or not benefits rise based upon wage increases or price increases There’s a series of parts of the formula that are being considered. And when you couple that, those different cost drivers, affecting those — changing those with personal accounts, the idea is to get what has been promised more likely to be — or closer delivered to that has been promised. Does that make any sense to you? It’s kind of muddled. Look, there’s a series of things that cause the — like, for example, benefits are calculated based upon the increase of wages, as opposed to the increase of prices. Some have suggested that we calculate — the benefits will rise based upon inflation, supposed to wage increases. There is a reform that would help solve the red if that were put into effect. In other words, how fast benefits grow, how fast the promised benefits grow, if those — if that growth is affected, it will help on the red.

Now that is a verbatum quote. Given that he isn't making a lot of sense I can only draw 2 possible conclusions, either he is senile, or doing drugs.
Luckily he isn't anyone important. As anyone will tell you anybody who can sign on the dotty line can get legislation into power and any jerk can be used to take the blame when they forget to put the legislation before the appropriate authorities. The real people in power in the USA know who they are. The important point is that the guy they have fronting their operation, a guy called George W Bush who mumbled that lot above, is hopefully a scapegoat because well I just hope he really isn't in charge.

Isn't diabetes something to do with sugar?

Sorry but when someone whose job is to advertise doughnuts dies of diabetes complications it makes you wonder will his family sue(the guy is American)?
Will the company settle out of court?
Will they claim he had two sugars in his coffee, 18 times a day?
Will the family counter claim that they supplied him 10 of those coffees and gave him lifetime free doughnuts delivered fresh to his door, daily? Including Sundays, and delivered them to the hospital when he went in.
Then again they could just get it all sorted out very quickly by supplying free doughuts for the wake. No somehow I don't think that's a good idea.
Of course he might never have eaten any doughnuts but knowing how strange the law it that if someone says they use a product or personally recommend something then they really have had to use it. But if the family do admit that couldn't his estate and the company be sued?

Strange going back through all of this makes me realise just how easy it is for a lawyer to make money. Maybe I ought to try it as a career. After all that little lot above looks like a cool £½m in fees.

No taxation without representation

Even now in America it is the case that Americans are being taxed but they aren't allowed to elect people to their government. Now where does this crime against justice occur, Alabama maybe, Louisiana perchance, erm well no try Washington DC. Yes in the seat of government itself the people of Washington are not allowed representation in Congress. Not only that but federal authorities impose a 'State Governor' on them. One that is not elected by the citizens of Washington but imposed on them. Their 'State Governor' is none other than the President of the United States of America. But they have no say in who he is as the final choice is up to an electoral college. Strangely if the city wishes to pass a law that other cities are entitled to pass then the federal government can overturn that law. Other cities at least have the protection from this sort of abomination by the protection afforded to them by their state, but unfortunately for the citizen's of Washington they aren't allowed to be part of a state. Instead they have to rely upon the federal courts to protect them from the federal government.
Can anyone else see how unsafe that is? Given that the federal courts are there to look after federal interests how is a city to get justice when the federal authorities stand against them.

and what about the other fifth bomber

What other fifth bomber? Well it seems that the car that was used by the 7/7
bombers also had a complete spare bomb in it. (Yes I know ABC says there was
a truckload of bombs in the cars little boot but please it's an American
setup).
Now as this spare bomb (the nail bomb shown it the detonator for it) was
there it must have been for someone to use. Now there have been suggestions
that a fifth man was there but turned away from them and went home. So where
is he?
It is possible that he is one of the crowd they're arresting now. It is a
strange setup where 80% attendance is the norm. Will this weeks happening,
if it's still on, be the same, or will we get a 100% attendance. Of course
the really big question is where's the gig guys?
Hey please no fashion victims, and remember if you are successful you get an
automatic 0 rating for sex appeal.

Copy of a fatwa issued by British Muslims

We wish to express our sincere condolences to the families of all the
victims of the London attacks. We pray for the swift recovery of all those
who are recovering from injuries.

There are many questions emerging from the London bombings. One of the most
important questions is what does Islam say about it?

To answer this question Muslim scholars, clerics and Imams from all over the
UK have been consulted to issue this formal legal opinion (fatwa) so that
Muslims and non-Muslims can be clear about Islam's stance on such acts.

Severe condemnation

On behalf of over 500 clerics, scholars and Imams the British Muslim Forum
issues the following religious decree:

Islam strictly, strongly and severely condemns the use of violence and the destruction of innocent lives.

There is neither place nor justification in Islam for extremism, fanaticism or terrorism. Suicide bombings, which killed and injured innocent people in London, are haram - vehemently prohibited in Islam, and those who committed these barbaric acts in London are criminals not martyrs.

Such acts, as perpetrated in London, are crimes against all of humanity and contrary to the teachings of Islam.

The Holy Koran declares:

"Whoever kills a human being, then it is as though he has killed all
mankind; and whoever saves a human life, it is as though he had saved all
mankind." (Koran, Surah al-Maidah (5), verse 32).

Islam teaches us to be caring towards all of Allah's (God's) creation, not just mankind. The Prophet of Islam who was described as "a mercy to the worlds" said: "All creation is the family of Allah and that person is most beloved to Allah who is kind and caring towards His family."

Islam's position is clear and unequivocal: murder of one soul is the murder of the whole of humanity; he who shows no respect for human life is an enemy
of humanity.

We pray for the defeat of extremism and terrorism in the world.

We pray for peace, security and harmony to triumph in multicultural Great
Britain.

So to anyone who hasn't got the message, all killing is wrong and sinful.
If you commit sucicide that is a great sin, but if you have sucicide in your heart when you act as a sucicide bomber then you have sinned doubly.

Why we didn't give sex appeal/fashion ratings on the first 4 bombers

Sex appeal
Kings Cross: 0 (dead)
Tavistock Square: 0 (dead)
Piccadily: 0 (dead)
Russell Square: 0 (dead)
Fashion ratings
Kings Cross: No decent picture taken on day
Tavistock Square: We found a picture but he's wearing a coat. Sorry but outdoor clothing is hardly fashion
Piccadily: No decent picture taken on day
Russell Square: No decent picture taken on day
Sorry but you have zero sex appeal when you are dead. There are no decent
pictures taken on the day of you dressed to kill so no way we can give you
fashion victims any valuable advice. Not that you could listen to it if we
did.

Are sucicide bombers victims?

Strange as it may seem the bombers in London (all 8 of them) may not be terrorists.
Apparently terrorists in Palestine prefer to recruit sucicidal individuals for bombing campaigns. Now it seems that no Muslim can commit sucicide as this is a sin and means they go to hell.
So the terrorist recruiters hunt down the sucicidal people and offer them a way out. Instead of committing a sin become a martyr.
Now one of the groups they like recruiting is people with AIDS. The reason is that not only are they disliked because of their 'sinful' illness but they make a belt bomb into a biological weapon. They are also more prone to sucicidal phases.
Not unexpectedly then a lot of sucicide bombers are males in their late teens to mid twenties which is the age range most likely to want to commit sucicide.
So the next time we encounter these people maybe we should rage not against them but instead against the heartless people who manipulated them into killing themselves. Not as the recruiter wants you to believe for a cause but because they wished to kill themselves. Instead of offering them much needed help they offered instead a quick and messy death.

Terrorist sex appeal

Warren Street: 9.55 a couple of undone buttons and he could have been a 9.9 or even a 10. We think maybe 9.65 as news reports say that whilst escaping he ran through this old couples house opened the front door and (this is the cute bit) shut it behind him. Hey politeness counts even if he is a failed suicidal murderer.
Oval: 8.7 we disagreed heavily here, but the skinhead look is a turn off
for Nikky
Westbourne Grove: 8.5 but for the pansy pink footwear you could have been a
9
Hackney: unrated (please we have taste)

Fashion plea to terrorist fashion victims

We've been discussing this all day and we've agreed to consider the fashion
victimhood of Thursday's terrorists.
Oval: Now this is the cute guy in the black New York sweat. Now we have
agreed the guy shows a sense of humour here. Hey you are getting up and
going out to blow yourself to pieces, and of course there are all those
chicks to impress with your immense cool when you hit paradise. But please
black, sorry but black is the colour of the ink of the scribes, red is the
colour of blood. But then red doesn't look like his colour either so maybe a
pale blue or gold top.
Hackney: Now sorry we would probably die laughing with this guy. Please
where did you get that awful hat. We don't want to know honest. Then there
are the palm trees. What were you thinking here? Maybe you thought the bus
didn't have colour cameras? Try adding some colour next time. Maybe peach,
or green, but avoid the hat. Even if you're bald. Virgins go for bald men
it's a sign of virility.
Warren Street: How about undoing a few buttons here. Definite street cred
and from what we see this guy is no victim.
Westbourne Grove: What are those shoes? True they are blurred but they look
pink. What did you do get out of bed the wrong side and put your
girlfriend's shoes on? Does she know you intended giving her up for a bunch
of virgins? Like the relaxed air with a sweet touch of nervousness. But try
a little sanity in the shoe department.

One final tip for the four of you and anyone else wanting to blow up bombs
here.
Test them before leaving to blow them up. If any fail to detonate then hand
them back to the bomb maker and insist he checks the next batch personally.

Strategic Command can't spot 'em

Last night Cosmos 1 an amateur spacecraft launched on a rocket for an ICBM (Intercontinental Ballistic Missile) successfully bypassed Strategic Command's radars that are tasked with detecting incoming ICBM warheads. Not only were they told where approximately in the sky it should be found but it was advertised widely in public media.
Why couldn't they detect it?
This morning the latest has it that Cosmos 1 is adrift from its predicted orbit. An excuse? No!
Other ground stations could detect the satellite but weakly. Surely given the better equipment that Strategic Command reputedly possesses they could have seen something . Given that the other ground stations had to track it further on in its orbit where it was even more off track but could detect it begs the question. Could North Korea launch a nuclear missile against the USA without America knowing until it struck?

America to cease being a space power 2

Yes Tiff commented on this before. America To Stop Being A Space Power Not only will the current US law bar America from buying rides on any Russian spacecraft. But it seems that the current law won't allow a foreign investor to see the designs for a spacecraft that he will buy and operate from US soil. Not only that but if he did succeed in doing so the safety criteria laid down by the US will do little to guarentee his passengers safety but a good deal to make it more likely that people will be killed.
Now at least with this infomation it becomes clearer why the shuttle has such a bad recorded when its safety is determined by rules that are designed for unmanned spacecraft.

But does she need to apologise

Having been a bridesmaid at a wedding (the train carrying sort not the one that gives her away) I do know the sort of stress brides go through. All last minute nerves and worries about snoring in bed, and ironing, and even the size of (we'll miss that bit off OK).
True lots of people went out to search for her when all anybody knew was that she was a missing person. It is also true people that go missing sometimes turn up dead. But some people also run away. In her case she was a runaway. Now when she contacted the police after she decided to go home, partly it seems due to lack of cash, she did fib about why she had gone missing. But the fib was told to the police who she apologised to and corrected her story at the first opportunity that she had, namely when they came to pick her up.
True lots of people voluntarily put themselves out to look for her when there was a lack of information about her whereabouts but given the stress she was under I can well understand her actions on the day.

What does Human Spaceflight have todo with the endangered Attwater’s Prairie Chicken

Human spaceflight for those not in the know is where humans, they're the two legged things you see round town, not the ones with wings no they are birds, humans have arms. Spaceflight is where you strap humans to the side,or even on top, of a large amount of explosive and ignite the explosive from a distance of several miles so that the humans are blasted into orbit.
So that's human spaceflight. Now we come to the endangered Attwater’s Prairie Chickens. They were discovered by a man named Attwater on the praire and well they are probably chickens.
We've just upgraded our minimal research and yes they do look like chickens, but they are grouses..
So why is a place like the Johnson Spaceflight Centre breeding grouses. Well one reason is to get eggs. Not as you might think for the breakfast table but for the chicks that will hatch. It seems that the zoo the birds are at is landlocked, whereas the JSC is open prairie. Why the JSC though?
JSC can offer security. Can you imagine a grouses feelings when it sees men wandering around with guns? OK security. Habitat. Quiet. Yes I know this is the place where people strap themselves to bombs, but amazingly the JSC is farly quiet.
But the real reason is none of the above. It seems that JSC Director Jefferson D. Howell Jr was a featured speaker at a function and the then Houston zoo President Philip Cannon was attending. A chance encounter occured and after a brief discussion Mr Cannon wrote to Mr Howell and they arranged this deal.

US Troops deliver important medical aid in Yemen

At first glance this story struck me as dumb then I read it through. As strange as it may seem this does make a big difference to people. Now although they only did that for four days if they can get it to become something regular then think of the monetary impact. Larger fitter cattle attract a greater price at market. This means the farmer gets more money. The knock on effect into the economy could snowball.
Of course all it means in market terms in the real world is that there is more food for Europeans and Americans to buy and scoff/throw out. Why? Well who in Africa or anywhere in the Third World can afford to compete in buying power. In a world where most of the food goes to where the money is and not where the people are the effect of the health program is only good news for Western societies.
